Application access for DocumentsCorePack and AttachmentExtractor

2116 views 2 Updated on June 5, 2023

When setting up an online service, you are provided with different connection options. While we do recommend “Server2Server,” where the service is provided with a named user it is acting as, we also allow application access instead. By doing so, the online service is using the permission provided to an application to connect to your organization.

We provide two different options to define the application to be used:

  1. Use the mscrm-addons.com generic app: We provide a generic app you can register within your Azure tenant to be used for our service. Please note that mscrm-addons.com will hold the Client-Secret to connect in this case.
    How to:
    • Enable App Access using the mscrm-addons.com Application (DocumentsCorePack)
    • Enable App Access using the mscrm-addons.com Application (AttachmentExtractor)
  2. Use your own application: To avoid registering our application, you can also create and maintain your own application to be used for our service.
