DocumentsCorePack (DCP) is a powerful solution that brings professional, automated document generation to Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform.
Whether you need contracts, quotes, invoices, or any other business documents, DCP allows you to create templates in Microsoft Word and merge them with your CRM data in just a few clicks.
Getting started is straightforward.
DCP is made up of two main components that work together:
- The DocumentsCorePack Service – the engine that connects to your environment and enables document generation.
- The Template Designer Add-In – the tool that lets you design and customize your document templates directly in Microsoft Word.
Once both are set up, you can generate documents directly from your Dynamics 365 or Power Platform environment, integrate with workflows or Power Automate, and deliver them to your customers instantly.
1. Deploy the DocumentsCorePack Service
The DCP Service is the backbone of your document generation process. Once deployed, it connects to your Dataverse or Dynamics 365 environment, enabling all DCP features.
The Online Service Configuration process will:
- Automatically install the required managed solutions in your environment
- Assign the necessary security roles
- Activate the DCP Service for your organization

2. Install the Template Designer Add-In
The Template Designer Add-In allows you to create and customize Microsoft Word templates for your organization. With it, you can design templates that pull data directly from Dynamics 365 or Dataverse records.
You’ll install the Add-In directly into Microsoft Word, making it easy to design templates without leaving your familiar editing environment.
