DocumentsCorePack: The “Insert”-button in Open Office XML template (.docx)

This blog article describes the main functionalities and features of the “Insert”-button in Open Office XML template (.docx). This button allows to easily insert additional contents in your Open Office XML (docx). Within this dropdown-button you can simply insert every MS CRM field as a “special”-field.

WHERE TO FIND THE INSERT-BUTTON 

You can find the “Insert”-dropdown button in your “DocumentsCorePack Task Pane”. Therefore open Word and go to the “www.mscrm-addons.com”-tab, choose “Insert MailMerge Fields” and answer the question with yes. See screenshot below.

Next, the DocumentsCorePack Task Pane appears in your Word document on the right side. See next screenshot:

Click on the Insert-dropdown-button to get to the different insert-functionalities. See next screenshot:

THE STRUCTURE OF THE INSERT-MENU

The structure of the menu varies, depending on the version you are using. Please see below the possible setup for RM 2011 and CRM 2013.

THE [INSERT]-BUTTON FUNCTIONALITIES 

The [Insert]-button contains different optional modes. Click on the dropdown-button next to the “Insert”-button to use these optional modes:

– Insert as Picture-Field
– Insert as Picture-Link-Field    
– Insert as Document
– Insert as HTML

Insert Static Item:
– Insert Static Document
– Insert PageBreak
– Insert Remove Empty Lines
– Insert Join Tables 

Computed Items:
– Insert as QR-Code-Field
– Insert Advanced String-Field
– Insert Computed-Field
– Insert Hyperlink
