Deploying DocumentsCorePack: Setup, Automation, and Real Business Impact in Dynamics365

269 views 0

Automating documents in Microsoft Dynamics 365 can be quick, powerful, and user-friendly. DocumentsCorePack helps teams create, send, and manage documents, like quotes, contracts, and service reports, directly inside Dynamics, without disrupting existing processes.

In this article, we walk through what happens when you deploy DocumentsCorePack in your Dynamics environment, from initial setup to real business impact.

Step 1: Installation and Environment Setup

Getting started with DocumentsCorePack begins by installing the solution directly into your Dynamics 365  environment or power platform environment. The solution is Dataverse-native and can be deployed in either sandbox or production.

Setting up DocumentsCorePack is designed to be as seamless as possible—no complex steps or technical guesswork required.

Once a user enters their credentials into the Online Service Configuration, our installer takes care of the rest:

  • Automatically installs all required managed solutions
  • Assigns necessary security roles (which can be customized later)
  • Activates the DCP Service

There’s no need for manual solution imports, schema changes, or alterations to your existing CRM business logic. Security roles are pre-assigned and deployment is handled behind the scenes.

Most organizations are up and running in under 30 minutes!

Step 2: Template Design in Microsoft Word

DocumentsCorePack is powered by a template designer that runs directly in Microsoft Word. Upon installing DocumentsCorePack users immediately gain access to several pre-built templates for common use cases such as quotes and invoices. Users also have the ability to create custom templates using a drag-and-drop interface mapped to Dataverse of Dynamics 365.

Features include:

  • Full support for Dynamics 365 fields, including custom tables and unlimited relationships
  • Conditional logic (if/then), grouping, loops, and calculated fields
  • Dynamic images, formatting rules, and version control

Once a template is saved, it’s stored in the CRM and can be used immediately by end users.

Step 3: Document Generation Options

DocumentsCorePack supports both manual and automated document generation.

Manual generation happens through the “Create Document” button in the ribbon of any Dynamics record. Users can select a template and define actions like:

  • Attach to an email
  • Generate as PDF or Word
  • Save to SharePoint
  • Send for e-signature (DocuSign, Adobe Sign, AssureSign)

One-Click Actions let admins predefine those choices, so end users simply click once and everything is done for them—generation, attachment, delivery, and storage.

Step 4: Process Automation with Power Automate

DocumentsCorePack includes a certified Power Automate connector with more than 25 actions. This allows customers to:

  • Automatically trigger document creation based on field changes, status updates, or time-based rules
  • Generate and send quotes, contracts, and onboarding packages on schedule or on event
  • Create approval flows for internal review before delivery

All of this is done using standard Power Automate tools—no custom code or plugins are required.

Step 5: Impact Across the Business

Once deployed, DocumentsCorePack helps teams shift from manual document processes to scalable, automated workflows. The impact is felt across departments:

  • Sales: Send quotes or proposals in one click, with consistent branding and real-time data
  • Operations: Automate delivery of contracts, invoices, and service documents
  • Customer Service: Generate case summaries, notifications, and follow-ups without switching apps
  • Compliance: Ensure legal or regulatory language is inserted automatically based on values in CRM

For most organizations, it’s the difference between document bottlenecks and fully integrated communication.

Step 6: Monitoring and Management

DocumentsCorePack provides full logging and usage reporting through the service portal. Admins can monitor:

  • Template Useage
  • Document output volume
  • Error handling or incomplete flows

Templates can be updated, versioned, and moved between environments (dev, test, prod) with ease.

What Makes DocumentsCorePack Different

DocumentsCorePack isn’t just an add-on to Dynamics—it’s a document automation layer that turns your CRM into a scalable content engine. DocumentsCorePack is:

  • Fully embedded in Dynamics 365 & Power Platform
  • Built for any business user
  • Designed to support simple and complex use cases across departments

It supports both manual interaction and fully automated workflows, adapting to your organization’s digital maturity and process complexity.
