How to use pictures and images with DocumentsCorePack

4590 views 2 Updated on December 18, 2023

This article outlines how to add pictures or images that are stored in your Dynamics 365 to your documents (e.g. product pictures).

Below you can find references to the two main options with some explanations about their usage.

  • The Insert as a Picture Field option downloads a picture and includes (embeds) it into your documents. This is the most common option you will use if your output is an actual file (e.g. pdf, docx). The file size of the document increases.

You have some options with this functionality. The functionality allows you to insert pictures, that:

    • are stored in an “Image”-field
    • are stored as an “Entity Image”
    • are stored as a note in your Dynamics 365
    • have a link to a file share or to SharePoint
    • are from a “Pen Control”

Or

  • The Insert as a Picture Link Field option, which references it to online storage. This is the most common option when your output is an E-mail body. The file size of the document remains small, but access to the actual location is required to display the image properly.

You have some options with this functionality. The functionality allows you to:

    • Insert pictures with the [Insert as Picture-Link-Field]-button
    • Send emails with picture links using DocumentsCorePack
    • Add a hyperlink to an existing picture field (clickable image)

Read more about the functionalities of the “Insert”-button.

That’s it! We appreciate your feedback! Please share your thoughts by sending an email to support@mscrm-addons.com
